This is a very special build because the ‘94 was the last model with a “hard dash” interior, retaining a lot of features from earlier models before transitioning to a “soft dash”. This vehicle enjoys air conditioning, power seats, power mirrors, power windows, power locks, and a really nice radio unit. It has a performance engine and drivetrain that was custom built for the project. The driveline was disassembled and powdercoated, and all mating surfaces were remachined. When I do a complete restoration, I aim to make the vehicle as nice as possible- certainly giving each example more attention than when they were being mass produced at the factory.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAt this time this vehicle is highly dialed in and there’s not much I would change. We are constantly evolving our restoration process and there are a couple small interior trims that we have started producing in-house since building this truck that we could discuss upgrading. Suspension bushings, shocks, and coil springs have all been installed to replace the electric air suspension that came with the vehicle. All genuine components were used. In the last 10,000 miles, the Rover has received a performance aluminum radiator, custom Congleton Fuel map, and a standalone oil cooler system to allow extra capacity in the radiator. The AC has been serviced and upgraded for cool driving down south. All suspension bushings were replaced with genuine LR bushings. The brakes, swivel balls, and axles have also been recently serviced.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eLet’s get to the heart of what makes this Rover special. The interior has been extensively enhanced with a Congleton service radio and Bluetooth connectivity. We’ve replaced the center stack, prone to cracking, with our own proprietary design that’s far stronger and more durable. The package was built by Rovers North of very high quality and has a good aesthetic appearance for an engine bay. It also has a high ratio transfer box. The truck is capable of 65-70 mph and because of its heavier rims, larger tires, and upgraded shocks, it rides very well for a leaf sprung truck. Sometimes Series trucks just hit really hard, but this is a nice exceptional ride, even on the interstate.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eA background story from Taylor: This is the only Series I have ever owned, and I built it to mimic a Land Rover movie poster style ad I saw from the 1960s. I haven’t been able to find the ad in years, but it is burned into my memory. It was a hand drawn Series pickup 109 driving through an oil field. It was so cool and stuck with me forever. The pickup was just a pickup, no hard top and the windshield was of course folded down. I love that look and when I purchased this Series I immediately removed the top, sides, and door tops to make the ultimate summer convertible. I also added a rear bench seat for extra company. After changing the engine and transmission I took the Series on a 300 mile day long stress test from Burlington VT to Mount Washington and back. And I mean to the top of MT Washington on a 80 degree day. She performed flawlessly and was the talk of the mountain. After that adventure, we stored her for the winter and took her back out this spring. The vehicle is very built up inside and with the drivetrain, not as much energy has been given to the exterior paint work. This would be a great candidate to take the body panels off,  repaint it, and reassemble it to the original red. We have done about 40% of the body panels in the original red and it would just look great if it could get a new paint job but it is also, right now totally ready and useable, and ready to drive, so we are happy to offer it.
