A Passion for Land Rover: Heritage, Craftsmanship, and Evolution

It’s hard to believe it’s been over 30 years since the Range Rover Classic was introduced in North America, and nearly 30 years since the last one rolled off the production line. Land Rover series trucks were sold here, and of course, the Defender for a few years, but the only one I knew was an old Series IIA that served as my stepdad's plow vehicle.

A Classic Rover and the Roads That Followed

As a young adult, I bought a Short Wheel Base 1995 Range Rover Classic and learned that Rovers can be beautiful, comfortable, and capable. That truck got a rolling restoration, and I took it through just about every trail in America, really taking it from a nice road car to a brutish off-road truck in the process. I plan to rectify that short-sighted error soon and revert back to a nice road car.  That experience with my classic made me fall in love with the West and off-road racing. Building race cars and Baja trucks was a lot of fun, but I always returned to Rovers, and I’ve built my business around them.

The Legacy That Drives Us

We build with two guiding principles: originality and evolutionary improvement. At first glance, those might seem to conflict, but it’s how we stay true to what these trucks were always meant to be: tough and innovative.  Every decision we make, every upgrade or modification, has to pass that test. Does it honor the original vision? Does it improve the truck without compromising its identity?

Built with Respect. Built to Perform.

We build vehicles for performance, reliability, safety, and comfort, and we won’t insult the men who designed them and built them by hand many years ago. The Congleton build is one of evolutionary improvement and respect for heritage, and you feel it in the first mile of driving.
